***UPDATE*** We rode
Amos on a three day ride this weekend. We started in Virginia and went
to the Hensley Settlement on Friday (total of 20 miles). Next, we
traveled to Big South Fork, TN on Saturday and Sunday where we exposed
Amos to a variety of rigorous trails. He crossed rivers, went up steep
hills with lots of rocks, crossed logs, and encountered wildlife. Amos
never spooked at anything and we rode him the last four miles back to
camp without a bridle just to test how broke he really is. You can
literally throw the reins down on this horse's neck and he will walk
down the trail on his own and never bat an eye at any obstacle! If you
are looking for a safe horse for a beginner, this horse may be the one
for you.
"Amos Moses" is a super gentle, thick bodied,
registered Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse 3 year old palomino gelding
with dapples. He has a natural, super smooth running walk and an excellent personality.
He loves being around people! He is out of Billy Bob.
Check out his pedigree below. He is safe for
inexperienced riders! He will gait on a loose rein and will drop
down to a walk or stop on command. He will also pick up speed when
the rider takes hold of the reins and clucks. He leads, bathes, clips, loads,
hauls, stands for the farrier, and does just about anything you ask him
to do as you can see from the video. He has been trail ridden
by an 11 year old girl and will go up and down steep hills, through water, and across ditches.
He does not spook at wildlife or equipment and will ride in the front or
back of a group of horses. He has a good mouth and is comfortable
with the bit. He is currently being introduced to the show ring
and recently won his first blue ribbon at his first show. Amos has an
excellent personality and is willing to do practically anything to
please his rider/handler. He is an excellent trail horse and show horse.
A colorful, willing horse like Amos is hard to find. If you have been
looking for a flashy trail companion or a horse that will be competitive
in pleasure divisions, don't miss the opportunity to own Amos Moses.
Please call if you have any questions about this horse.
As always, we back up everything we say about our
horses with video, so be sure to take a look at the videos above!!!
